Water is the lifeblood of our planet...
The life giving fluid in all organisms, plants, animals and humans. Our very existence is intimately connected with the quality of water available to us.

WELCOME TO BOSQUERIVER.ORG

The BRC is an organization of individuals and entities sharing a common interest in the Bosque River and its watershed, including landowners and businesses, and the City of Waco, the owner of water rights in Lake Waco. Members have devoted their time, energy and financial resources to the work of the BRC and to environmental practices that promote:

  • Water Quality
  • Conservation
  • Habitat Restoration
  • Responsible Waste Management

The BRC is committed to ensuring that state and federal regulators hear the voices of all who are concerned about the Bosque River and its watershed.

GET INVOLVED

Generations of families in Erath and Bosque counties have fond memories of swimming and fishing in the Bosque River. However, recent studies by Texas A&M University's Texas Water Resource Institute (TWRI), Tarleton State University's Texas Institute for Applied Environmental Research (TIAER) and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) have all found the Bosque to be impaired and degraded. We believe that through good land management practices, this friendly and inviting river can be restored.

We need your help! If you are interested in joining our efforts, explore our membership involvement opportunities below:
